Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-d0000 (2V8U5AV)

Hello everyone!

I am looking to upgrade my HP Laptop, with some more SSD Storage or some more RAM Sticks. But the thing is, I don't know if my warranty will be voided if I do upgrade. So before risking my PC, I would rather ask experts 🙂

Cheers,
Salutcf

Well, in my concern and own point of view, I think upgrading RAM or SSDs do not void warranty. I think warranty void when it refers to disassembly or modifying some settings related or beyond the recommended. In other words, warranty void when yo do not follow the warranty recommendations. You can take a look at the warranty information related to your system/notebook.

Hi, @salutcf

This is a peer-to-peer forum.

We do not work for or represent HP, so we are unable to reply on HP's behalf regarding the warranty terms and conditions.

I recommend you contact HP customer service and seek a definite answer from HP.

Chapter 5 of the service manual indicates that installing SSD's or memory is a customer-authorized procedure, so off the record, I would assume that you will not void the warranty unless you break something in the process of doing the upgrades.

Do note however, that if your notebook ever needs warranty work, you must return the notebook to its original hardware configuration before sending it in for service.
