HP Notebook - 15q-dy0004au
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi..

I have Hp Notebook 15q-dy0004au. I want to upgrade my laptop for higher end softwares. Can I install an external graphic card to my laptop. Will my laptop support external graphic card ?

And my laptop has single slot with 4GB ram. Can I upgrade it to 8Gb or 16Gb ram ?

Its specs

It does not have any internal nor external port which is fast enough for an eGPU. It also doe not have slot for dGPU. It uses AMD Radeon™ Vega 3 Graphics iGPU.

For RAM, you can upgrade to 16GB or 32GB using compatible RAM such as following

Hey @Banhien.

Thanks for the reply.

For gaming purpose, my laptop has no issues with CPU but in terms of GPU it has only 256 mb Vram which is too low for most of the games. Is there any possibility to atleast increase the Vram or a better GPU ?

Also I have another laptop Hp 15-r004ne. Am I able to upgrade this with new or external graphic card ?

Integrated video (iGPU) does not have room for keep VRAM, it relies on System. System will work this out and allocate/assign spare/available system RAM to VRAM automatically when required up to max limit. System will also take VRAM back when required (the number is dynamic, not fix). During the good old days, we could do this from BIOS but now OS is smarter.

The following document shows Max shared RAM for Intel iGPU versions (I can't find info from AMD iGPU).
