It's across the entire HP line. They, have again, prevented their consumer base from updating their equipment to the latest technology. They make everything they sell obsolete right from the start. I purchased my one and only HP laptop several years ago and wanted to upgrade my wireless to AC as my entire home network has been pushed up to AC 3200.  Hp isn't the only company screwing their customers on this whitelist issue. There are several majors, that do not whitelist the wifi cards. HP, IBM, Lenovo and Dell whitelist their bioses. Asus, Toshiba and Sony (so far, since I own at least one of each) do not whitelist. THIS is the EXACT reason I will Never own or buy another HP product or recommend them to anyone.

Same problem, same network card, cover pins 20 and 51 doesn't worked, wifi recognized but not working, appears disabled in grey.

Simply you have to kill "HP Service" from services in the TASK MANAGER (right click on windows bar > Task Manager > Services Tab > right click on "hpsrv" > disable).  And voilá! Wifi and bluetooth working fine!

Disable this service in windows services for prevent windows from enabling the "HP Service" every time your machine powers on (Windows key + R > type "services.msc" > search "hpsrv" in the list > right click > properties > disabled).

I hope this tip helps you!
