Hi,

I am hesitant to buy either HP ENVY 13-aq1007na or HP ENVY 13-aq0003na, both are core i7, but the first is 10th generation with 8G RAM and the second is 8th generation with 16G RAM.

I am asking if the memory is upgradable or soldered for the aq1007na so as to go with it if it is upgradable.

Thank you.

Its specs

   https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06549005

which says it has   8 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (onboard) RAM that means you can't upgrade RAM (onboard means soldered to the system board.

You have to buy a different system board which contains

 (a) Motherboard,

 (b) CPU / Processor,

 (c) 16GB of RAM (max),

 (d) New Windows license (you can't reuse old license)

Because all 4 above components are on one piece of hardware called system board.

Regards.
