My former laptop had an option to charge battery to 80%, this was said to improve the life of the battery.
- Is this (still) relevant?
- and, if so, how can I manage this with my HP laptop?

@RKemkes, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
What model HP PC are you using?
This feature in HP notebooks is called as BatteryCare.
Update the BIOS on the PC, refer to this document to know how. Now, configure the battery care function in BIOS.
Reboot the PC and and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, Press F10 to open the BIOS Setup Utility.
Go to System configuration tab > Battery care function > Set it to 80%
For more info on Improving Battery Performance, refer to this document.
Let me know how this goes.
