Is it safe to plug in USB-C hub while the laptop is charging with its original charger?

I have an HP Spectre x360 15T (15-EB0053DX 9GB30UA#ABA) laptop, and I recently got a  VAVA 12-in-1 Dual 4K Docking Station (Model: VA-DK004)

Right now am only using the USB-C hub for its ethernet connectivity and a few USB ports. So am not connecting it to its power source, but it shows that it's slowing down the original charger that came with the laptop. The USB-C hub is not connected to the thunderbolt 3 port.

My Question- What would happen if I plug in a USB-C hub that is a 65 watts charger to my laptop while it's using its original charger.

Normally we won't play around with ANY electrical devices when it is ON. Changing electrical status suddenly will cause more ham than good.

What would happen if I plug in a USB-C hub that is a 65 watts charger. Well, would you like to hear a "boom" or a smell of electrical fire ?   Well, I hope you would not like that.

Hope this makes sense.
