For the Laptop - 15-AY078TX (2016 model), what is the port type on which the WIFI adaptor is present. is it PCIe or NGFF?

Hi:

 

Your notebook's wifi slot is M.2 (PCIe).

 

See chapter 1, page 3 of the service manual.

 

Since your notebook only has one wifi antenna connected to the Realtek single band wifi card currently installed, there is only one wifi card you can upgrade to where both the wifi and bluetooth work, if that is why you want to know...

 

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.

 

You can find this model on eBay, or Ali Express.

The card has the same throughput as the RTL8723BE card on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but on the 5.0 GHz wifi band with an AC router, it has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS.
