Is there a CMOS battery built in the G62? Laptop not starting up and wondering if this is my problem.

Yes, there is a RTC battery.

Chapter 3 has the RTC battery part number and chapter 4 has the RTC battery removal and replacement procedure.

Hi Paul.Thanks for the reply. The manual information was slightly different than my layout - would have been great if there was just a slot just sitting there with a battery. So I looked again on YT and there was only one example of removing a battery and that involved using a mini grinder to the back of the casing (I certainly didn;t want to try that one). However a break down video of a G62 did find it under the motherboard (bottom left on keyboard side) So I followed the video and replaced with a new one. First attempt to turn on worked but screen was dead and then nothing so ATM I have a slightly dead laptop.  Power adapter is on with white light. Any other suggestions that I might try?
