Yeah sorry...did not disappear until Intel Core 4th gen models and yours is Intel Core 3rd gen.

Compatible adapters:

(21) WLAN module: For use with all computer models: Atheros 9485GN 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi and 3012 Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter 655795-001 Atheros WB225 802.11b/g/n 1×1 Bluetooth Combo Adapter 675794-001 Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi and 20702 Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter 657325-001 Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 WLAN module 670691-001 Ralink RT5390R 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi Adapter 691415-001 Ralink RT3290LE 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter 690020-001 Atheros AR9565 802.11b/g/n 1×1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter for use only on computer models equipped with an Intel processor 690019-001

The one in bold looks like it would be good but this is an error in the Manual. That part number is actually a Ralink card I do not recommend.

Hi:

Probably the only time I have ever disagreed with Huffer, as is evidenced by this post below...

http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Pavillion-dv6-7000-WLAN-White-L...

There are others who have successfully upgraded the wireless cards in the dv6-7xxx, dv7-7xxx-models if you want to search further.

@Paul_Tikkanen says there is not one. I still think there is, but the only way to know for sure is to try an off-list wireless card in it and see if you can boot up. If you have the whitelist there is no way to remove it.
