Is there much chance to repair this laptop or should I just bin it?

Pavillion G6-2311AX Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, Just joined as I'm searching for some help with a laptop/notebook question.

I have an old HP Pavillion G6 Notebook Model G6-2311AX. It was a great laptop except that the fan had problems very soon after buying it. I returned it to the store and they gave me a replacement rather than repairing it. Not too long after that the same problem happened again. I just put up with the noisy fan and didn't bother to get it fixed, and later on I just bought a new laptop. So this one has been sitting un-used for a long time and I recently thought perhaps I might be able to find parts online and fix it for a extra laptop. I can't find any parts for it now online, so I guess it's been far too long. I just wanted to ask if I sent it to HP Australia would they have parts for it and fix it. I'm in Australia. I would need a new battery for it (also dead now) and a new fan basically. I haven't been able to find any place online that has the parts, so I'm guessing HP Australia wouldn't either, and would just tell me it's too old. Before I chuck it, I just wanted to ask HP, but they directed me to the community, so if anyone has any advice on it, I would appreciate it, thanks. Jay
