Kensington Cable Locks Do Not Fit in Slot on HP ENVY x360

HP Recommended
HP ENVY x360 15.6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The cable lock slot on the HP ENVY x360 is supposed to be designed for Kensington locks. My  Kensington Cable Locks do not fit in the slot. The end slides in OK, but turns part way. It feels as if something is block it. Anyone else have this problem? Or, is my fairly new laptop defective in design?

Newer thin and light laptops do not use the older Kensington lock. Something like this:

That looks to be HP's branded version of the Kensington Microsaver, which has a very slender lock body but fits the standard Kensington lock slot.

In this recent thread, it became clear that HP are putting Kensington Nano slots in some recent devices, which need a Kensington Nanosaver or the HP branded equivalent (1AJ39AA - see the other thread for details). The two locks look very similar, but have a different locking mechanism designed to fit a different slot. It's all very confusing!

The smaller HP cable still has the same size "male" section as the standard Kensington locks. It does not fit and rotate inside the laptop case. Something must be defective in my laptop case.
