Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone!

A few days ago I had an issue with my HP laptop.

Turns out the HDD was damaged (I ran some tests) and I had to replace it (no big deal).

After Windows 10 installation, I noticed that some keys didn't work.

I've tried to update the drivers, uninstall the keyboard from Device Manager, plug another USB keyboard (which worked just fine), even that weird solution that you have to remove the battery and unplug the charger.

None of these solutions worked for me.

I thought that maybe the keyboard was damaged and I bought a new one, which didn't work either.

Now I have two keyboards, a damaged laptop and I see no solution anywhere.

Any recommendations?

Best regards!

Javier C.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Apologize for the inconvenience caused and I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.

I suspect this could be a software-related issue as keyboard stopped functioning normally.

As you've performed relevant troubleshooting steps and still issue remains the same with the newly purchased keyboard.

I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
