I'm having trouble typing using my keyboard. 

 

I have resulted to using the on screen keyboard as certain keys do not work. 

In particular the letters a,l,s do not work. 

 

please help

We need the full model number. But in the meantime try going into device manager and find the keyboard. Right click on it and uninstall...now reboot. This reloads the keyboard driver and kind of gives it a little kick to see if it is a software issue. There is a very small chance of success but nothing to lose and no cost involved. It very likely needs a keyboard replacement is why we need to know the full model number. Thanks.

I have upgraded Windows 10 but I think it is one of those promotional update not one that I bought . I believe this might be the problem. I previously ha Windows 8.

My Notebook is HP Envy 17
