Hi @SAFVAB,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your Victus by HP 15.6-inch gaming laptop is charging very quickly, it might be due to a few reasons.
- Battery Health: Check the health of your battery. Over time, batteries lose their capacity and can charge and discharge unpredictably. You can check battery health using tools like HP Support Assistant software.
- Power Settings: Ensure your power settings are optimized. Sometimes, power settings can affect charging rates. Go to Settings > System > Power & Battery to check your current settings.
- Charger and Port Issues: Ensure that you're using the correct charger and that the charging port is clean and free of debris. A faulty charger or port could cause erratic charging behavior.
- Background Applications: High power consumption by background applications or heavy usage can drain the battery quickly. Check for any high-power applications running and close them if not needed.
- Battery Calibration: Sometimes, recalibrating the battery can help. To do this, fully charge the battery, then let it drain completely until the laptop shuts down. Afterward, charge it back to 100% without interruption.
- Software/Driver Updates: Ensure that your laptop's BIOS and battery drivers are up to date. Sometimes, software updates can resolve charging issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
