Product: Elitebook 8650

Similar to the older discussion here, I woke up this morning and found my laptop in a puddle of clear liquid, odorless, slightly more viscous than water. It had not been spilled or leaked from elsewhere in the room. It appears to have come from the vents next to the optical drive. 

Any clues what component may have caused this? How can this be fixed?
