Hi everyone!

I recently had trouble with my new laptop. Seemingly after a routine BIOS and Windows update, games I play lag whenever the AC adapter is plugged in. This did not happen immediately after purchase.

When I remove the AC adapter, games do not lag. I have checked the power saving setttings, and putting it on max performance on marginally made the lag better. I still see lag spikes every 5-10 seconds.

I would appreciate any help from an expert because I've exhausted all my options in months since getting this laptop.

Thank you!

Hello ichi730,

I have updated everything through Windows Update and HP Support Assistant. Are there updates that I should get somewhere else? I found that BIOS updates were usually from the HP Support Assistant and where do you propose I update my graphics driver?

Yes. Go to hp.com/support enter your product number and search software and driver tab you should be able to update the driver for graphics card there.

Hi,

Have you update the following?

-BIOS

-Graphics Driver

-Windows update (Double Check it)

Note: If you are using Norton or third party Antivirus REMOVE THEM! and stay with McAfee..

So it turns out that I ended up updating my grahpics drivers through the options in the control panel. That actually ended up solving my issue! I don't know how that connects to why it lagged while charging, but I guess I won't complain :).

Thank you so much for the help!
