Hp laptop battery can't properly calibrate, always getting error note " OK(1) "

I check all the laptop parts with hp support assistant software. All the results are passed with no error note except the laptop battery calibration test.

That time i noticed the battery component test is passed , but battery calibration (battery charge level is 100%) test status is show with error note " OK(1) ".

Even UEFI (F2) all component test also passed without any error. The purpose for run the manual  laptop battery calibration through UEFI mode (F2 ) is laptop battery design capacity is less than battery full charge capacity level. so I follow all the steps that HP mention on their website for better battery calibration.

Question No 1.

What does battery status as OK(1) indicate?

Question No 2.

Why always HP laptop battery design capacity level is less than full charge capacity level ?

Note : I'm not satisfied with HP laptop.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to know what is Battery OK(1) message when you run the battery test and about the battery design capacity.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

OK(1) means that the battery is working fine and the 1 represents the battery number. If you have more than 1 battery on the computer that number changes accordingly to the test run on battery 1 or battery 2.

To answers the battery capacity issue, many factors can contribute to battery performance:

  • Battery cells suffer gradual, irreversible capacity loss with each discharge-charge cycle.

  • Temperature and discharge loads can impact battery performance and capacity.

  • Battery capacity and charge can decrease even when the computer is unplugged from a power source and not in use or turned off. The amount of decrease can vary by computer model. To reduce the charge consumption while the computer is turned off, disconnect any peripherals and disable Wake-On LAN settings in the BIOS.

  • During prolonged storage or non-use, the battery charge can decrease below its recommended low-voltage level. Discharging the battery below its recommended low-voltage level may physically damage the battery and result in the battery becoming unusable.

NOTE: If the battery does not recover after charging for 30 - 60 minutes, the battery has most likely sustained physical damage and must be replaced.
  • Leaving the battery at a high level of charge in a high-temperature environment for extended periods can accelerate the loss of performance and capacity.

  • The computer generates excess heat during high workload or if it is not properly ventilated. This temporarily impairs the battery charge and discharge rate. The battery function returns to normal when it cools to an acceptable operating temperature.

  • To help maintain battery capacity, HP batteries are designed to discharge a small amount once fully charged. This is normal for most notebook batteries. The battery will begin to recharge once the charge has dropped below 95%.

  • Using software for graphics processing or high-definition video accelerates the loss of performance and capacity. For example, playing 3D games decreases capacity faster than using word processing applications.

  • Your notebook configuration and power settings can impact your battery performance. This includes settings such as:

    • Display brightness

    • Backlit keyboard

    • Display resolution

    • Windows Power Plan

    • Processor speed

    • Type of storage, such as a peripheral storage

I hope that answers your question and you have a great day!

Hi  The_Fossette,

I'm asking sorry from you, for delay reply actually last one month I'm not at home.

Really your reply is great I'm really delighted.

I have two more question, can give explain please!.

Q1)  as you mention above,

OK(1) means that the battery is working fine and the 1 represents the battery number. If you have more than 1 battery on the computer that number changes accordingly to the test run on battery 1 or battery 2. "

I want know is it possible one laptop have more than 1 battery or did you mean battery cells ?.

Q2).  This is apart from the battery calibration.

One of my friend's brought hp 15s dr2008tu laptop just 3 days back. He search the drivers for diwnload manually from hp official website. But unfortunately he couldn't find the drivers on hp website. Can you help him how to download drivers manually for his laptop and how to find the correct drivers for his laptop model.

@Prash4

Yes, you that's right. Usually, the other battery or battery 2 is the CMOS battery.

Your friend can download all the drivers for his computer from the below link.
