Hi, I have had this problem for quite some time. When on, I put the charger into the port and it charges for a few seconds and then stops. I can only charge if the computers lid is down or if it is shutdown. I have tried several restarts, deleting and reinstalling drivers, updated bios, restarted power schemes, and updated to the latest software of Windows 10. I have not installed any new hardware. If anyone has a solution, please help me. Thanks!

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I reviewed your post and I understand that the battery is charging only when the computer is turned off.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
Have you tested with a different charger?
If yes, and still facing the issue, then I recommend you contact support as it might be a hardware issue.
