Laptop continues to switch back to S mode

HP laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After purchasing laptop we decided to take it off of s mode. We went through the steps to switch it off, it verified being out of S mode, even downloaded an application and worked for a few hours that it was in use. The next day when we turned it on I could not open the application I had downloaded, because it said it was on S mode once again. I thought once we removed S mode it could not revert back. Please help this is a new laptop.
