So, i got this laptop second-hand in christmas. My father was the previous user but he didn't use it a lot. As the title explains, the battery doesn't charge. It only charges when it's off or on sleep mode. The battery itself is fine. It charges to 100% when i turn the computer off and according to the HP hardware diagnostics there's nothing wrong with it OR the adapter. It appears as though it was charging fine, but the battery % never goes up (or down). The charging light is white and you see the plugged in icon. In the little window you get when you press it it doesn't say "not charging" but it also doesn't say how long until full charge.

I tried running DISM and SFC and both tell me there's nothing wrong with any components. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both battery drivers and nothing changed. I also tried disabling and then enabling.

I don't usually use it for very demanding stuff, and it always stays in the same battery % no matter what. If i'm just scrolling through social media, it stays the same, and if i'm doing something more demanding like rendering video it still says the same, so i don't think it's because the battery is draining faster than it charges.

Honestly, it annoys me to no end and i wish to fix it soon but i can't find more info online.

EDIT: i also ran an antivirus scan of the whole computer, no viruses anywehre to be seen
