HP ENVY x360 Convertible 13-ay0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Sleep doesn't work on my brand new HP ENVY x360 Convertible 13-ay0xxx. The fan keeps on running constantly regardless if I put the computer to sleep.

I've run powercfg /energy and I got the following error as part of the report:

Platform Power Management Capabilities:PCI Express Active-State Power Management (ASPM) Disabled
PCI Express Active-State Power Management (ASPM) has been disabled due to a known incompatibility with the hardware in this computer.

I've also:

- Done a full Windows reset. I haven't installed any application after the reset.

- Run HP support assistant to update the drivers. Everything is up to date

- Run Windows Update. Everything is up to date.

- Run the power troubleshooter

- Run the hardware diagnosis. No problems found.

Can you please advise?

Have you checked in the BOOS to ensure that the fan is not set to always on?

Yes. The fan is not set to always on.

I have the same problem, and I believe it happened only after BIOS & Windows 10 updates!

Fan control is firmware (aka BIOS)  controlled and sleep issues are  OS related  and quite likely to have something to do with Windows updates.
