I went to turn on my Pavilion gaming laptop and heard the fan try to spin up three times but stop and then saw an System Fan error 90B. The error indicates that the system has detected that a cooling fan is not operating correctly and continued operation is not recommended. Then the laptop turns off.
I tried looking into updating the BIOS, but it appears like there isn't any new BIOS available for me to download.
I then tried going into the BIOS menu, and in the System Configuration set the "Fan Always On" to "Enable". Once I did this and restarted the laptop, I do not get the Fan error (90B) and the laptop starts normally.
Should I be leaving the "fan always on" setting "enabled"?
Do I really have a fan issue that needs to be fixed?
