HP Recommended

I work as a computer technician but I'm still learning so I wanted to come here before I tear apart my boyfriend's laptop.

It has this issue where when you first boot it up, the screen flashes, almost like something is maybe disconnected or loose. Usually this is fixable by turning off the laptop and then starting it back up.

I'm not sure why that fixes the laptop, but it happens every time he boots it up in the morning. I would like a more permanent fix to it. Any suggestions?
