Hello,

Lately I have been getting minor electric shocks through my laptop whenever I insert or remove any USB or earphone wire.

Whenever my finger comes in contact with the metal part of the wire I experience a shock. I wanted to know what could be causing this and how can I fix it.

Thank You.

You need to treat the area you work at with an anti-static spray.  The following worked for me

The electric discharge can easily damage equipment.  I lost a pair of USB type hard drive enclosures due to this exact problem.

Spray the carpet, chair and table you work at.

Thanks for replying,

I think the problem is with the laptop itself. I have 2 other laptops at my home and I have never experienced any issue like this on the others. Can I get this fixed at the service center if my laptop is under warranty?
