Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So, last month or so, my cat had chewed my laptop charger, and I tried to use electrical tape to fix it, but no avail. So the laptop has been dead for a month or so. 

  I just got the same charger yesterday and I plugged in it, the light next to the port where you plug in it isn't turning on, screen isn't either. I unscrewed the bottom cover and tried to see if anything looked broken or weird, but nothing was wrong. My charger works fine. 

 

  Any suggestions? My warranty expired and I don't have the money currently to get my laptop checked out.
