Pavilion 15

Hello I have a pavilion 15 and I connected a naked usb wire to power something but accidentally shorted the two ends for about a second only now my laptop is not booting did not try much, as currently I don't have electricity here.

You should never have done that!! 😲

 

You probably shorted out circuitry inside the laptop on the system board.


It will need to be inspected and it is quite likely that the system board will have to be replaced or the components replaced.

 

It is likely to be time to source a replacement.

 

You now know what you should never do with a laptop's USB ports.

 

If you want to power something with a laptop's USB port that has a + symbol, only use appropriate USB power cables and only power something that requires power rated within the USB port's capabilities.

 

Otherwise, you will smoke check your next laptop as well.

 

That is not a good scenario and obviously an expensive result.
