Hi,

I bought my laptop 2 years ago and recently I experienced it shutting down at 35% battery level without warning.

I am not sure if it had something to do with a Windows Update because I also had an unsuccessful / incomplete update lately.

If your laptop is 2 years old or older, this could simply be an instance of an older battery not holding a charge well anymore.

Presuming you charge it up to 100%, how long is it taking to get down to 35%?

It now takes an hour to reach at 35% level after being fully-charged. I also took the Battery diagnostic at 45% and it said that battery needs replacement 😞

But the replacement battery is not available in the HP store.

Then get the HP part number of the battery and look online for a replacement.  Make sure when you get it, that is is the battery with the correct part number.  I got a charger for an All-in-One recently, ordered it using the HP part number and when I got it, the charger was not the same model.  So, I had to return it for a refund.
