Laptop starts making noise and vibrating very strongly

HP Recommended
HP Pavilion - 15-ck003nl

I recently encountered a problem with my laptop (a 3 years old HP Pavilion - 15-ck003nl that has worked perfectly up until now). It has happened only twice in a 10-day period (more or less), but I want to solve this problem as soon as possible in order to avoid potential physical damage.

During use, my laptop started vibrating very strongly and making a noise that is similar to the fan noise when the laptop goes overheated. In both cases in which this happened, the computer performance was not influenced (I did not notice any slowdown) and the laptop was not overheated. In one case I was performing computations so there might have been stress on the CPU, but in the other case I was not doing anything CPU or GPU intensive. This has happened on Arch Linux and on Windows 10, so I don't think it's a driver problem. Rebooting the laptop (normally, not just cutting power or pressing the shutdown button) always made the problem go away: on (immediate, no waiting) reboot, everything was working fine.

What could I do to understand the origin of the problem and fix it? Might it be that my laptop needs some cleaning of the insides?
