Laptop suddenly stopped charging

I was using my laptop while charger plugged in, suddenly my laptop turned off and won't charge.

I am pretty sure the batter was not 0%. The charging indicator is not even blinking.

It's likely at least 4 or 5 years old and batteries can just suddenly die. Almost certainly the battery needs a replacement.

I tried removing the battery and test if it was the battery's fault, but it didn't worked.

I don't think its the battery.

What exactly did you do to determine its not the battery's fault?

I checked the battery on my friends laptop (same model) worked fine.

I also removed the battery and tried turning on the laptop while charging cable is connected to it. didn't worked as well.

Now that is a critical piece of information. So its either the AC adapter or the motherboard. Does your friend have an AC adapter you can try?

I checked with the AC adapter of my friend's as instructed by you, all in vain.

I also tested my adapter on my friend's laptop and it was able to charge his laptop.

What are the chances that only the charging dock is the issue and not the motherboard?

Does the light next to the charging port come on when you plug in the known good AC adapter?

No, it doesn't.

See p. 75. There is some chance replacing the power jack will fix the problem and the part is not too expensive. If you need help finding one let us know. Good luck.
