HP 15-bs191od
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP 15-bs  laptop left hinge broke and the left corner is cracked and bulging. The laptop was not dropped or fell. When I open and close the laptop the hinge is shifting and then separating lower case from the upper case. The screw from the lower case are falling off and I am not able to close and open the laptop properly. The warranty is expired on this laptop.

I understand this is a known issue by HP.

Please help.

Thank you in advance.

Hi@cdstraw,

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Apologies for all the inconvenience

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. This sounds like hardware related issue with the hinge assembly and in order to fix this issue,  your computer needs to be serviced.  As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.

I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically.  HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/

Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance. Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution

Your support takes me in circles and this is not resolved.  This is a known HP defect and I do not feel I should have to repair myself.

I now cannot use this laptop as it will not close and I need to travel with it.

Still no resolution.  I opened a case and noone has contacted me.  I cannot take my laptop to work as it wont close.  If I knew about this defect I would have never purchased a HP.

Going to go to Social Media next if I cant get a resolution.

Worst Customer Service ever.  So frustrating but ..... I am a purchasing manager and we have decided because of my personal experience we will not move forward with HP starting immediately.

Answer after 6 people promised they would help.

Hello,

I regret to inform you that your unit has reached End of Support Life, which means that HP no longer has access to recovery discs, hardware or software for your system. If you prefer you can contact either our Home & Home Office Group or our Commercial Department in your area to see what current models may fit your needs. You also have the option of taking it to a local repair shop in your area.

We apologize for the inconvenience.
