Left back hinge defective....laptop has come apart!

Hp envy
I've had my hp envy laptop for around 3 years, my husband bought it for me to do my MSc, and it has been used primarily for studying at my desk. I noticed the back left hinge coming apart a few months ago, and i had to physically push the laptop back together. I've always been really careful with it and don't understand how this happened. Now it's come apart so far the fan has failed and there is a warning message when i start it up advising me not to use the laptop without an operational fan. I'm essentially laptop less and am going back to do my phd in September. I really need the laptop for molecular modelling. I thought it was just bad luck until i saw the other posts advising this is a common problem with this make and model. I'm really disappointed as with the software and accessories bought on the day my husband spent around £900. For the amount of use it had before breaking, i feel like it was poor value for money. Can anyone advise me how I can get this fixed? I live on the Isle of Wight so i don't even think we have any local repair people 😢
