Left hinge broken on HP 15-BS625TX 15.6-inch Laptop, corner cracked.

My HP HP 15-BS625TX 15.6-inch laptop left hinge broke and the left corner is cracked and bulging. The laptop is working well, but for the faulty hardware. The laptop was not dropped and was used as normal with care, but the left hinge appears to be weak and faulty.  When I open and close the laptop the hinge is shifting and frame of the upper case is falling apart on the left hand side. The warranty is expired on this laptop. Please help.

I have had no other problems with this laptop and I believe the design of the hardware hinges is faulty on this model, as other HP z book I have works great.

In this case you should replace the hinges so that other components are not damaged.

Hi Thanks for your kind reply. I contacted HP staff on their business WhatsApp and they tell me that their support for this model has stopped. However my laptop has still not stopped working :). 

In case of hinge kit as you mentioned, can I get one specific to this model.  HP has redirected to local IT engineer as they are unable to assist any further I guess. However they have provided me with part details.

From the pictures posted in this forum in the past it's not so much the hinges break is they break up the top cover/keyboard assemby. We'd need to see some detailed pics of the damage to tell.

So at a minimum, depending on the damage, you'll need a new top cover/keyboard , the laptop base torn down completely and reassembled with the new top cover/keyboard assemby.

For a shop to do it it;s $3-400. If you are savvy enough you can do it yourself for the cost of the part ($60-$100) with the help of the service manual.
