So I was wondering if anyone could help me with an issue that I am having;

The left side of my laptop screen has recently began popping out at the bottom where it meets the hinge. I have googled and I see that it seems to be a common thing, but was wondering what I need to do about getting it fixed? My warranty ended about 6 months ago so I was just going to attempt to bring it to a repair shop, but they informed me that I should contact HP first.
