@Mattia1005,

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums,

I understand you are in need of support, I'll be glad to help you out, however, for an accurate solution I will need more details:

As you have mentioned in your post that you have an HP Envy 15 notebook and you would like to know the size of the CD drive supported on your PC.

It's a Fixed, serial ATA, 9.5-mm tray load

DVD+/-RW Double-Layer SuperMulti

Supports zero power optical drive

Supports weight saver in optical drive bay

Supports M-disc

For more details, please go through the Maintenance and Service guide of your notebook.

Chapter 1 Product description - Optical drive page number 2 & 3.

Chapter 3. Illustrated Parts catalog - Computer major components - page number 19   ( Optical drive (DVD+/-RW Double-Layer SuperMulti) 750636-001 )

Chapter 5 Removal and replacement procedures for Customer Self-Repair parts - Page number 43.

Please note the part listed is the one which is tested and compatible on your PC.

If you wish to try other parts you can try it at your own discretion, HP Doesn't recommend any upgrade/downgrade of any hardware parts or software that is bundled with the product. It may affect the manufacturer's warranty and performance.

Alternatively, You could replace the part on your own, use the HP Partsurfer to identify the part: Click here & order it via the HP Parts store (Click here).

I hope this information helps. Let me know if you need any further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help you.

that said, If the information I've provided was helpful,

give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.
