Product: Hp 15-bs638tu Notebook
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have Hp notebook 15-bs638tu. I need to know which m.2 ssd can I install that is compatible and also can I install 500gb capacity one. Will it be compatible? 

 

Also, I have existing 1TB hdd. I want 500gb m.2 ssd plus 1TB hdd. I'm planning to make dual storage configuration in my laptop.

 

Please advise.

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

 

The supported drive types and configurations can be found in chapter 1.

 

HP 15 Laptop PC (Intel)HP 15g Laptop PCHP 15q Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide

 

Your notebook's M.2 slot supports SATA SSD's only, not NVMe and supports dual drive configurations.

 

The drive capacities listed in the manual are just what HP offered in the model series.

 

If you want to install a 500 GB or 1 TB M.2 SATA SSD, that would be fine.

In the manual it says for dual configuration use value ssd + 1 TB hdd. 

Can samsung evo 860 m.2 sata ssd be a value ssd? Can this be used?

Yes, the Samsung 860 SATA M.2 SSD should  work just fine.
