Hello everyone,
I recently purchased my HP Spectre x360 in October 2024, and I’ve noticed some troubling marks on the anti-glare coating—though they aren’t scratches. I have been a happy and proud customer of the HP Spectre series, as it is one of the best-looking laptops on the market. However, this issue seems to be a significant design flaw related to the screen.
I’ve taken great care of my laptop since day one, but the marks started appearing after just a few days of use, even though I didn’t apply any extra pressure and always kept the laptop in the sleeve provided. It’s only been four months, and I’m concerned to be facing issues after spending so much on a premium device.
In addition to the larger marks on the top of the screen, I’ve also noticed small marks across the whole display. I rarely use the touchscreen, and even if I did, the marks are in locations that wouldn’t typically be affected by regular use. I can tell this was not done by me because the marks are very distinctly in line with the bottom of the trackpad when closed and are perfectly parallel. I noticed these marks before I sent the notebook to service for repairs related to the lid sensor in November 2024.
I reached out to customer service at the service center regarding this issue, and they informed me that I would need to pay for the repairs. I’m a bit surprised, considering the circumstances. For this premium item, I didn’t expect to have to send it to the service center just a month after purchase, especially with this issue of display marks. What options do I have? I truly value this laptop and would appreciate any guidance on how to address this situation.
From the forum, it seems this is a recurring issue, and I’ve found many others experiencing the same problem.
Has anyone else encountered this? If so, how did you manage to get it fixed? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
