It appears that I have a SATA-300 540 gb. I'd like to upgrade to a larger hard drive but don't know if there is a limitation to this like there is on the ram side. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The limit you will bump into is not caused by the computer, SATA system can handle a virtually unlimted capacity of drive. The limit is in the market. You can't have a disk thicker than 9.5 mm and right now the largest capacity 2.5 inch wide and 9.5 mm thick drive is 2 TB as it has been for several years. The manufacturers just have not figured out how to cram any more data into that small of a package.

@Pavilion16428, welcome to the forum.

The maximum hard drive size is determined by the partitioning scheme the operating system allows.  Here is a guide that will explain what is possible with Win 10.  As you will see, the determining factor of using a hard drive larger than 2 TB is, does the motherboard have UEFI or a Legacy/standard BIOS?  If so, the drive has to be partitioned using GPT.
