May I upgrade the keyboard on the referenced laptop to backlit? If so, what parts should I order?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

 

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, After reading your post, I did go through the Product specifications of your product and found that you have full size island style keyboard, with numeric keypad installed on the PC. 

And you can install backlit keyboard refer to the Article; http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06510442 Keyboard/top cover on page 54.
