Re: What is the Max RAM supported by the G72-c55DX running Win 7 Home Premium 64 Bit?
What is the Max RAM supported by the G72-c55DX running Win 7 Home Premium?
Can you just use One 8 gig memory or do you have to put two 4 Gig modules
Can you define how much memory is allowed in Win 7 Home Premium 64 Bit ?
Because why I am asking this I saw a post on different webpage that it would hold 16 gig total running Win 7 64 bit Home premium
Thanks in advance for any help

Per the Service Manual:
2 customer-accessible/upgradable SODIMM slots
Supports dual-channel memory DDR3, 1333 MHz
Supports up to 8 GB of system memory
It would have to be 2 x 4 gig modules of DDR3-1333 to achieve 8 gigs. 4 gigs is the largest single module it can work with.
You also have to be very careful. The 1st gen Intel Core processors (and yours is based on that architecture) require low-density memory. Not just any module will work in other words, ask here before you buy anything.
The operating system is not the limiting factor it is the hardware. 8 gigs is the maximum that platform can support.
