Dear Experts,
laptop details:
Product Name: HP Notebook
Product Number: 1AC74PA#ACJ

As mentioned above, the laptop currently has 4GB of DDR3 RAM. Is it possible to expand the memory?

Hi:
There is some conflicting information regarding your notebook.
According to the product specs and the parts list, your notebook comes with DDR4-2133 MHz memory.

However, the parts list also indicates your notebook has an i3-5005U processor, which is not what the product specs indicate.
What model processor does your notebook have?
It is possible to install 2 x 8 GB of memory, in either case but the memory type and speed depends on the processor your notebook has.
You can also run this free utility that I zipped up and attached below, and it will provide the information regarding the memory that HP installed in your notebook.
I don't think I've ever seen such inconsistencies in the HP specs and parts list before.

There is a disassembly video here that might be useful

As @Paul_Tikkanen indicated there are inconsistencies with the specs.
If you have 4gb you can easily add another assuming the motherboard is socketed as shown in the video.
Use the following command to get the part number of your existing memory

Currently, my system has a size of 4GB and a processor type: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-6006U CPU @ 2.00GHz. Is it possible to upgrade the memory from 4GB to 16GB for this processor?
Kindly suggest the steps

You can install 2 x 8 GB of memory, but you need to open up the notebook and confirm what type of memory HP installed. DDR3L-1600 or DDR4-2133, since the specs don't jibe. It should be DDR4-2133, but I can't be 100% certain.
There are some HP notebooks with the Intel 6th generation core processors that use DDR3L-1600 memory.
Below is the link to the service manual which has the memory removal and replacement procedure.
