Hi,
I have an HP Omen X 17-ap000nw 2PJ72EA i7-7820HK / 16GB / SSD256GB + 1TB / GTX1070 / Win10H laptop
Serial number: [Personal Information Removed], Product number: 2PJ72EA
I am curious if it is possible to enlarge the RAM in it. I read that the maximum is 32gb. What's better 2x16gb or 32gb in one? And I would like to add a hard disk (SSD). Are there any restrictions? What parameters do I have to watch out for?
Below are the links for the products I would like to buy: https: //www.bpm-power.com/it/online/componenti-pc/ssd/1tb-samsung-980-pro-b1709196

The motherboard will run any regular DDR4 at 2400. -2400 -2666 or -3200 all will work but will run at 2400 speed. Only XMP memory can run at 2800 and that is the fastest the memory can go so you would need a module 2800 or faster and XMP compatible. XMP is a setting in the BIOS. It is an alternate way, other than traditional JEDEC, to set the memory speed. But not all modules can have their speed adjusted using the XMP method.

Here is the Service Manual:
Takes DDR4-2800 XMP SO-DIMM. Stay away from Kingston Value RAM. HP notebooks do not play nice with it. Regular Kingston is fine. DDR4-3200 would likely run at 2400 speed. You need the DDR4-2800 XMP if you can find it. The Samsung 980 Pro is Gen 4 PCIe. The motherboard on your laptop is Gen 3. The 980 will work but no better than a less expensive Gen 3 module like the Samsung 970 Evo Plus.
Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.

A single 32 gig memory module will not work. Max 16 gb per module. No capacity limit on SSD other than what's in the market. 1 TB will cause no problem.

I have not found DDR4-2800 from Kingston to match my laptop. If 3200MHz won't work well on my computer, can I order 2666MHz? The Hyper X series appears in the google search all the time. What do you think about this series? Below I am attaching a link to the product I am thinking about. It costs a lot of money, so I don't want to buy something that won't work. Thank you for your patience.
