Hi All,

I am planning to buy HP laptop model "HP 15q-bu034tu" with 4 GB RAM from Amazon India.

Can anyone suggestion if an extra RAM slot is available for future RAM upgrades ? OR will it be only one existing slot and that needs to be raplaced from 4 to 8 GM for RAM ?

Thanks.

Hi:

There are two memory slots available.

Below is the link to the service manual.

The memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1.

Thanks Paul for the reply.

In docs no where it is mentioned that 15q-bu034tu has 2 slots.

You're very welcome.

Your model has two memory slots because it has a core processor.

The models with Pentium/Celeron processors have one memory slot.

"Two non-customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slots (Intel Core processors)"

The 'non-customer-accessible/upgradable' means that the memory upgrade is supposed to be done by an authorized service center.

But if you look at the memory removal and replacement procedures in chapter 6 of the service manual and feel you can do the job yourself without breaking anything in the process (which would void the warranty), feel free to do so.
