Please use information on page 2 of the following manual

    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04886216.pdf

It supports

DDR3L-1333-MHz Single Channel Support (DDR3-1600 downgrade to DDR3-1333)

Supports up to 8 GB of system RAM in the following configurations:

8192-MB total system memory (8192×1) or (4096×2)

6144-MB total system memory (4096×1) + (2048×1)

4096-MB total system memory (4096×1) or (2048×2)

2048-MB total system memory (2048×1)

Your machine has 4GB now, you can add 4GB more to slot 2 using

   4-GB (PC3L, 12800, 1600-MHz) part # 691740-005

Regards.

Update: I ordered a 4 GB memory chip to add to the existing 4gb chip, but when I took the laptop apart, there is only one memory slot. I can return the chip, but I guess my question now is what is a good part number for an 8 GB chip and will this laptop accept it?
