Memory extension HP Pavilion g7-2310ed notebook-pc

HP Recommended
HP Pavilion g7-2310ed notebook-pc
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Is it possible to add a memory extension above 8GB in a HP Pavilion g7-2310ed notebook-pc?

The ntebook has now 2 banks of each 4GB DDR3. Can I replace them with 2 banks of 8 GB DDR3 each?

Thanks in advance

Hi:

You raise an interesting question for which I can only give you the information I found, not what I know to be a fact.

The service manual for your notebook indicates the max is 2 x 4 GB.

However, I found this Crucial memory report for the g6 model that has the same chipset as yours, but has the 15.6" display and they say the max is 2 x 8 GB.

https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/pavilion-g6-2125tu

The service manual for that model series also indicates the max is 2 x 4 GB.

Intel indicates the processor your notebook has can support up to 32 GB of memory.  That would be with 4 memory slots though.

What you can try is buy one 8 GB chip and if your notebook reports 12 GB of memory and works fine, buy the second 8 GB chip.
