I want to know what kind of micro sd card is better to use for an HP Stream  13 4G? And what kind of stuff can I put on the micro sd card? My memory is almost all full because of the updates, could I put some of the stuff in the sd card?

Micro SD for the stream notebook

Hi Lori,

I use SanDisc Memory card for both my Laptop and Camera..   Its really good..  Compact And excellent performance..

I would suggest u to by a 64GB or 128GB Memory card for storage..  But 128gb sd cards are more than 2 or 3 times expensive than the 64gb memory cards..

64gb would cost u around $30 but 128gb would be costing around $70 or more..

So, wat i would suggest is to buy an 1TB External Hard drive which would cost u around $50...   Western Digital and Seagate are good..  I prefer WD and i own one..

So u can do like this - keep a budget of $80 and purchase a 1TB WD Ext HDD and a 64 GB micro SD card..  (Product pricing may vary)..

But remember this - Internal Hard disc or the External HDD, both a very delicate..  Should be handled with atmost care.. You Drop down your HDD once, thats it, its gone.. Dead..    But Memory cards are strong, can handle Drops, bumps and pressures..

And yes, i both HDD and mmc, u can store Media files (Pics, Movies and Songs), Software files (exe files only), games and other documents..   But u can not "install" Softwares or games into mmc ot ext HDD, there r chances that it wont work..

Also mmc are Compact but Ext HDD are not..

So upto u to decide..

Yup Lori,

Thats because instead of spending $70 on a single 128gb Memory card, u can buy both WD HDD and a 64gb memory card for $80!!

64GB mmc is a compact storage device and u can keep it inserted into your laptop and u can carry your laptop anywhere with it..   Even useful for Travelling and u will get a total of 96GB with even feeling of extra weight on ur lappy..!!

But WD 1TB external HDD is for heavy storage, which u wanna use only at home..  Like movies, big softwares, Large games, lots of personal photos and documents, etc..

Why i suggested External Hard drive is, instead of wasting a lot of money 128gb, u can get a 1TB + 32gb for the same price..!

(Personal experience - 1 wasted buying a 32GB pendrive 5 yrs ago for $55 instead of buying a 500GB Ext HDD for $75!!)

Again Friend, Its all upto u..  But when "Long lasting" is concerned, the Memory cards are the best..  But if "more space" is ur concern, then Ext HDD is the answer..

Hi Lori,

Yes, External Hard Disc Drive are just a Plug and play device.. Just like ur mouse..  Very easy..

Most of them are protable too.. But just like i said before, u hav to give extra care for ur device..

For long term use, better buy a hard casing protective pouch and store the HDD in it..

Just remember one more thing - "Never Drop ur HDD"..

Micro SD for the stream notebook

Hi,

I am searching for an SD Card for the HP Stream 11 Laptop.

There are conflicting information in the HP Site for this information and I am completely confused... and the documentation as provided by HP is not clear as well.

I have read a few posts which HP has posted...

http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware/Stream-11-SD-Card/td-p/4798006

and

http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware/Re-Stream-11-SD-Card/td-p/4928839

As you can see, the HP Specialist is contradicting with herself...

Here are my questions:

1. Will HP Steam 11 read SDXC Card or not? Yes or no?

2. Will HP Steam 11 read SDHC card or not? Yes or no?

3. Does HP Steam 11 have a limit of 32 GB only, as you have stated in the above linked post?

4. Is it true that HP Steam 11 has NO Capacity limit for the Card reader?

Please kindly let us know and thanks!

Micro SD for the stream notebook

Hello,

I have an HP Stream caputador.
Is asking for updates to Windows 10 installed.
I tried the update is made in the memory card, but always gives error.
On the computer says he has no memory, and for me to clean the disc, something I have done, and still can not do the updates that are automatically available.
You think HP "dead" level updates, or is there any solution?
Thank you in advance, all the information that I can provide.

Greetings, Noémia :-)

I agree sd cards for 64gb and 128gb can be expensive but I spent some time on the interweb and found that on amazon.com there was a micro SD Adapter and a micro SD memory card of 128GB and the price is only...

    16.59$

Pretty Impresive If i say so myself. Free Shipping by the way.
