Elitebook 8460p
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My Bluetooth mouse stopped working with my HP 8460p notebook so I tried it on another notebook and it worked.  After trying to download and install drivers I restored system partition from a backup image file - everything is working again.  What caused the problem is unansered.  Before I restored the system from backup I removed the hard drive and I coule reinstall it.  Would like to analyze the cause of the problem.  Could someone help me?

Welcome to HP support community.

  • Run HP Support Assistant to make sure all the drivers on your computer is updated, including BIOS. Click here for assistance.  

  • Once all the drivers are updated, please run a system test on your notebook by tapping F2 or ESC on start up to enter the system diagnostics mode. Click here to know more.  

  • Once the computer test passes, follow the procedure mentioned in this article to improve the performance of your computer and clean up your computer.
