My HP Envy battery won't charge but is plugged in

Envy
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (64-bit)

The laptop is plugged in, and the computer says "plugged in, not charging".  What do I need to do?

My HP Envy battery won't charge but is plugged in

Greetings @Tonnie423

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are facing an issue with your computer where you are getting a message for your battery that says "plugged in, not charging".

Don't worry, I will be glad to help.

Are you using a genuine HP power adapter and battery?

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps on your own?

I have a few steps listed below that should help you resolve this concern:

Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.

Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.

Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager,

Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.

Also, Go through them all and let me know what you have determined is causing the issue.

The first document has the most relevant troubleshooting if your battery appears to be not charging.
