it appears its a common problem as seen many different queries regarding this that i can see mine is not the only one and clearly a fault in the parts - my lap top no longer under warranty , its always on a desk and i have never used the 360 facility i bought it primarily for touch screen but dont even use that - i now cannot close the lap top cause if i try where the hinge has dropped the screen backing splits open further and im worried this might crack the screen so leaving permanently open as this is my only facility for work access as i work from home and cannot afford a replacement laptop
I would understand if the laptop had not been looked after but even more so very disappointing that you spend nearly £1000 on a lap top and doesn't last more that 3 years !!!
there is clearly a quality standard issue on the parts for this to be happening so frequently and therefore HP must be taking some responsibility/ liability its not part of a warranty if its a faulty part and should be replaced at the cost of the manufacturer or provider ?
I look forward to hearing from you

Hi @SHMD,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
I understand that this is Hardware issue. But the support here is limited to software troubleshooting. However, since the unit might need repair, I would request you to contact HP Phone support who would have the option to schedule a repair as per the warranty and the issue can be fixed.
For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.
Please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.
If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
