@Koushick_M, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Your HP Pavilion Laptop PC 14-dv1000 (464V0AV) is showing clear signs of battery or power delivery failure, possibly combined with a motherboard or charging circuitry fault. Here are actionable steps you should take:

Check Battery Health (Windows)

Run the built-in battery report tool:

  1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
  2. Run:
    powercfg /batteryreport
  3. Navigate to the path shown (usually in C:\Users\[YourName]) and open battery-report.html.
  4. Look under:
  • Design Capacity vs Full Charge Capacity – If there's a huge gap, battery is degraded.
  • Battery life estimates – Shows if it suddenly drops to 0.

If battery reports extreme wear or discharges abnormally fast, battery replacement is likely needed.

Perform a Hard Reset

Helps rule out firmware/BIOS glitches:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Unplug charger and remove any peripherals.
  • Press and hold Power button for ~15 seconds.
  • Plug in charger (don’t power on yet).
  • Wait 1 minute and then try turning on.

Update BIOS & Power Drivers

Outdated BIOS or power controller drivers can cause battery misreporting.

BIOS:

Power Drivers:

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. Expand Batteries.
  3. Right-click and update both:
  • Microsoft AC Adapter
  • Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery

Then restart.

Run HP Diagnostics (Hardware Check)

Use HP UEFI tools to test battery and hardware:

  • Press Esc repeatedly during startup, then F2 for diagnostics.
  • Run:
  1. Battery Test
  2. AC Adapter Test
  3. Component Tests (Memory, Motherboard if available)

Check if any tests fail. If so, then please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
Kindly follow this link to locate the nearest HP service center: HP® Service Center Locator - India | HP® Support
(Select the country from the dropdown menu and enter the city name or pincode)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
