Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP (64-bit)
I came home and played on my laptop for about 10 minutes before it was frozen.I then waited for half an hour and decided to force shutdown and start it up again .It then Said Hard Disk Error and told me to do the hard drive test .It then restarted and then when I went and turned it on it brang me to the same black page with a few options.I bought this laptop at Tottenham Currys at August

You need to replace hard drive with a new one of similar form factor.
2.5inch 7mm thick SATA HDD/SSD
If you are within warranty, HP would replace it free of cost.

Use Recovery USB/DVD to factory reset OS after replacement.
If you're lucky, you could salvage data from failed drive, you can take it out and connect to another computer using SATA to USB adapter, then copy files using windows explorer.
